Where to swim

Ierapetra is renowned for her beautiful and clean beaches such as, Apovathra, Waikiki, Agios Antreas and Chrissi Island.

Apovathra is located in the centre of the town. This one, has multicolored little pebbles which are not annoying when swimming. It provides comfort and safety, as it has lifeguards and deckchairs

Waikiki is situated along the seaside. It has sand and it is also important to say that it possesses a “Blue Flag” which means that this beach has crystal-clear water. Moreover, it can entertain every visitor because it provides deckchairs, in order to have a beautiful tan, a beach-volley space and last but not least, the café that is located on the beach, can offer many drinks and snacks.

Furthermore, Agios Antreas is located just out of town. This beach is full of sand and some rocks. It is famous for its clean water and silence. It is really organized, since it is facilitated with a beach-bar, free deckchairs and some space to exercise your beach-volley skills.

Finally, Chrissi is a small island near Ierapetra. Everyone can visit it by boat and the duration of this journey is more or less an hour. The ticket cost only 25 Euros for a “magical” place like this. It can allure everybody at a glance, with its gold sand and crystal-clear water. This one is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature.
